500rds – 223 Rem Black Hills 40gr. V-MAX Ammo

500rds – 223 Rem Black Hills 40gr. V-MAX Ammo Details

This 223 Rem cartridge by Black Hills is poised to give your AR-15 the power it needs to slay rat, prairie dog, marmot, gopher, and woodchuck alike thanks to the 40 grain V-MAX projectile by Hornady that it sports. A V-MAX’s explosive terminal performance is the result of its polymer tip, which is seated on the mouth of its thin jacket and extends down into the hollow formed within its swaged lead core. On impact the tip jams inward to quickly but precisely disrupt everything, and the ensuing violent fragmentation is the last thing a varmint would wish to have occur within its torso. The V-MAX is also accurate enough to make its way toward small critters downrange thanks to the high ballistic coefficient that its aerodynamic profile bestows upon it.

So potent a bullet is in the right hands with Black Hills Ammunition. They don’t sell to operations like the U.S. Army and Browning because they faff about when it comes to making casings, primers, and propellant. If the Army is ever called upon to fight the looming menace of militant ground squirrels, this is just the ammo they’d employ for the task.
