221 FIREBALL
The 221 Remington Fireball (aka 221 Fireball) is a shortened version of the 222 Rem introduced by Remington for their bolt-action XP-100 competition pistol. Production of the original XP-100 only lasted from the mid-1960s until 1985, but the 221 Fireball persists as a somewhat popular target and varmint hunting cartridge. Wildcatters often neck it down to make experimental .17 cal rounds as well.
