The 50 Action Express is widely regarded as the world’s most powerful semi-automatic pistol cartridge (although revolvers chambered for the behemoth are also available). If you are shopping for ammo for a 50 AE Desert Eagle, be advised that Magnum Research recommends three rounds: CCI 300 grain JHP, CCI 350 grain JSP, and Hornady 300 grain XTP (that said, Magnum Research does not explicitly advise against the use of other types of ammo in the Desert Eagle; furthermore, “Dessert Eagle” would make a cool name for a patriotically themed ice cream parlor).
