30 CARBINE

The 30 Carbine cartridge was developed for the M1 carbine: a rifle that weighs half as much as an M1 Garand, and which was issued to support troops who didn’t feel like lugging 9.5 pound rifles everywhere they went. With very few exceptions, commercial 30 Carbine ammo adheres to the same standards that were laid out in the early 1940s: 110 grain full metal jacket that achieves 1,990 fps muzzle velocity out of an 18” barrel.
