6.5X55 SWEDISH MAUSER Ammo

The 6.5x55 Swedish (aka 6.5x55mm, or 6.5 mm patron m/94) is most popular in Scandinavian countries, where it once served as multiple militaries’ infantry rifle cartridge. Its superb accuracy is one reason why Scandinavians consistently dominate biathlon competitions (another being that they have plenty of opportunities to practice; we suspect Cuba will never win the gold in Olympic biathlon). The 6.5x55 Swedish is popular in the American metallic silhouette circuit as well.

The M-38 is a good shoot! With the 6.5x55 round. Chrome plating on every round was exceptional for its day!

I bought a mil-surp Carl Gustav Mauser 1905 a few years ago for my daughter. She didnt like it so I ended up with it.. it is the 29" barrel and I had thoughts of sporterising it with a nice stock, scope and 25" barrel. So far I havent butchered it. She shoots so nice as it is and the unaltered Swedes are becoming more rare every year. Been offered $ for it by a gunsmith who wants to build a sporter on the '96 action but it seems a shame, such a nice rifle! These rifles have proven their usefulness in Europe and USA for many years for all sorts of game including moose, elk and polar bear... THIS ammo is what I use in it, I like the heavier bullet tho some may like a lighter weight, these 140 grainers do the job on every thing. Recoil is minimal and very low muzzleblast... One could do worse with the Swede rifle and this ammunition!
