416 RIGBY

The 416 Rigby is a dangerous game cartridge that was introduced to the market in 1912. Loaded with then state-of-the-art cordite propellant, it was capable of accelerating a 410 grain bullet to a velocity of ~2,300 fps. Current 416 Rigby cartridges are typically loaded with 400 grain bullets and boast a slightly higher ~2,400 fps muzzle velocity because of it. Fairly uncommon nowadays, but still available thanks to Hornady.
