50 CAL. BMG Ammo
The 50 Browning Machine Gun (aka 50 BMG, 50 Browning, 12.7x99mm NATO, or 50 cal) was designed by John Browning in the late 1910s. It was specifically developed to shoot down planes with the M2 Browning heavy machine gun, but eventually became a popular cartridge for anti-materiel rifles as well. The incredibly powerful 5.45” long cartridge is also more than suitable for match shooting. The longest confirmed sniper kill in recorded history (3,871 yards) was executed with a McMillan TAC-50.
