These affordable 9mm Luger rounds from Federal make a great budget option for personal protection and concealed carry. The non-corrosive primers are installed with moisture-blocking sealant that ensures dependable function in any environment. Each round fires a jacketed hollow-point (JHP) projectile that weighs in at 115 grains.

115-grain projectiles are quite common to the 9x19mm caliber and offer manageable recoil along with a flat trajectory of travel; this translates to an easily learned relationship between point-of-aim and point-of-impact that is mirrored by numerous practice loads. This particular JHP is similar to Federal's classic Hi-Shok 9BP design in that it has a skinny cavity mouth at the center of a long, rounded ogive. This shape promotes reliable feeding in a wide range of firearm types while skiving in the bullet's copper jacket ensures expansion on impact. During entry into a target, the bullet's mushrooming growth in diameter will cause it to turn and slow before coming to a halt in a target's vital zones; this reduces the chance of collateral damage while dropping a threat with superb efficiency.

Gel test Results

We tested this Federal Ammunition 9mm Luger (9x19) ammo by firing five rounds with a S&W M&P Shield with a 3.1-inch barrel into calibrated Clear Ballistics gelatin. Of those five rounds, we discovered the ammo penetrated an average of 18.3-inches into the gelatin. Our test rounds ended the test with an average expanded diameter of 0.498-inches, retaining 99% of the projectile's original weight.

I bought this load and am very impressed with how it cycles through my XD. They are accurate and reliable. I will buy more. I've fired about 800 of the 1000 rounds and have had no issues.
