Gel test Results
In hopes of giving ourselves and our customers a better idea how this 9mm Luger (9x19) self-defense ammo would perform if called upon in a self-defense scenario, we tested dozens of the best selling hollow points on the market.
We fired five rounds of this Hornady Ammunition 9mm Luger (9x19) ammo through a cloth barrier into Clear Ballistics calibrated synthetic gelatin and recorded the results. For these tests, we used a S&W M&P Shield with a 3.1-inch barrel. A little faster than posted out of a 3.12" LC9. Expands well in water jugs and is accurate. Price is better than most JHP. XTPs are the bullet for penetration.

Very tolerable recoil in an 18 oz. pistol. Good accuracy and clean.

Absolutely love this load. All I buy for hollow points anymore. Fantastic price to performance ratio. Absolutely zero malfunctions in any of the firearms we've used this in.
