50rds – 9mm Speer LE Gold Dot 147gr. JHP Ammo
50rds – 9mm Speer LE Gold Dot 147gr. JHP Ammo Details
This 9mm cartridge from Speer’s Law Enforcement line of ammunition features the Gold Dot projectile, one of the last words in self-defense. The Gold Dot has the ability to retain the virtual entirety of its weight during penetration, even after having blasted through one of a variety of common urban barriers, because its jacket is bonded to its lead core. As the jacket has been created via Speer’s proprietary Uni-Cor electrochemical process it is furthermore highly concentric, and thus stays true to its course even after having sped far downrange. The hollow point Gold Dot’s nose cavity has been meticulously created over the course of a two stage process to ensure it expands to the correct width and at the correct rate for optimal stopping power. Its profile is also smoothed out to promote dependable feeding in a semi-automatic.Speer cleverly outfitted this round with a nickel plated brass casing, so it feeds and ejects impeccably well and won’t succumb easily to corrosion, either. You can count on the sensitive CCI primer with which this round is equipped to ignite without pause, and its clean burning propellant delivers an optimal muzzle velocity for personal protection.

I have a JP GMR 15 9mm carbine purchased several years ago for local competition as well as to add to my home defense arsenal. Because I don't reload the caliber, I purchased many kinds/weights of factory ammo to find the carbine's best accuracy load. Speer's Gold Dot 147 gr HP provided the best accuracy of all the loads I tested. A bit pricey, but I stocked up and keep loaded mags available.

Performs great in these tests with the short 3.1 inch barrel!

I carry what the local law enforcement carries in my concealed carry. The Speer 147 gr 9mm is a great load and is not extreme, but very logical choice for concealed carry weapons.

The best groups I have gotten from my Beretta Storm carbine have been from this round by Speer. 100% reliability in all my 9mm pistols as well.
