Hornady Ammunition 100 Grain Jacketed Hollow-Point (JHP) Ammo Details

Everyone who carries a concealed 9x19mm handgun for personal defense will find these Critical Defense Lite loads from Hornady to be conducive to their needs. The new "Lite" line of the proven Critical Defense brand features heavily reduced recoil that doesn't compromise on penetration and terminal ballistic performance. This is especially advantageous to shooters with small size pistols which are more likely to be carried daily. These cartridges are assembled using clean-igniting Boxer primers and reloadable brass casings which are coated in nickle for corrosion resistance and seamless, reliable feeding. Hornady's custom propellant exhibits low muzzle flash for reduced blindness in a shooting scenario.

The 100 grain Flex-Tip eXpanding (FTX) projectile used in this load is very light for the 9mm Luger caliber but allows Hornady to craft the specifications for standard velocity with low recoil which translates to fast sight acquisition throughout a string of fire. The FTX bullet resembles a conventional jacketed hollow-point (JHP) with a polymer tip that is intended to prevent clogging from intermediate barriers and initiate expansion on impact; this results in a threat-dropping diameter increase even at lower velocities associated short barrels. The bullet's ribbed cannelure slows the rate of expansion so that the bullet reaches vital organs while also maximizing accuracy potential before the round is fired.

Hornady's innovative projectile and ammunition designs have been praised for over 60 years for unmatched quality and unique construction. These particular cartridges also express their humility, as the pink polymer tips denote proceeds which help fund breast cancer research.
