Gel test Results
In hopes of giving ourselves and our customers a better idea how this 45 ACP (Auto) self-defense ammo would perform if called upon in a self-defense scenario, we tested dozens of the best selling hollow points on the market.
We fired five rounds of this Federal Ammunition 45 ACP (Auto) ammo through a cloth barrier into Clear Ballistics calibrated synthetic gelatin and recorded the results. For these tests, we used a Ruger SR45 with a 4.5-inch barrel. In the photos, graphics and video on this page, you can see specifically how the Federal Ammunition ammo performed and how it sticks up with the rest of the 45 ACP (Auto) ammo we have tested so far.

I have been very impressed w/ this ammo in my XDS's. This ammo runs over my chronograph in my 3.3" and 4.0" for an average of 795 FPS and 847 FPS for 3 shots each and expanded to approx..88". Accuracy has been around an inch at 21 feet for 3 shots. This ammo is my pick for conceal carry. Buy some and try it and see what you think. Good shooting. Cman

I've been using this ammo out of a Beretta CX4 carbine, good velocity, excellent accuracy and devastating damage to the 4 hogs I've shot. The hogs were all shot at 25 to 50 yards, the bullet exited on 2 out of 4 and left a large easy to follow blood trail. None of the hogs went more than 50 yards from where they were hit. Very consistent velocity from a CX4 and a 1911.

The only 45 ammo I carry. Cycles perfectly through my Glock 21 and Springfield XDs.

First started buying this from Ammunition To Go back in 2008! Feeds smooth for a hollowpoint and excellent accuracy. I won't use anything else for carry ammo!

This is a top pick for .45 owners. It has performed perfect in water jug testing after 4 layers of denim. This ammo expands well and holds together.

Excellent!!!!! I have taken down one deer and two hogs with this ammo. Definitely stoppers. All three stopped in their tracks. The wound cavities were impressive to say the least. Will buy again and again.

With expansion coming out the size of a quarter, you can't get a nicer man stopper than this. A.T.G. is the best place to buy it. My whole order was on backorder, and it still showed up at my door faster than anyone else would with in stock items.
