50rds – 22 LR Aguila Colibri 20gr. LRN Ammo

50rds – 22 LR Aguila Colibri 20gr. LRN Ammo Details

This ammunition is too weak for rifles. The bullet will squib (i.e. become lodged) in a long gun’s barrel. This ammunition is also too weak to operate semi-automatics. You will have to cycle such firearms by hand.

Aguila. It means “eagle” in Spanish. Colibri. It means “hummingbird” in the same. Put the two together, and what do you get? Just about the weakest 22 LR ammunition you’ll ever find for sale, that’s what!

We can’s over emphasize how weak this round’s bullet is. A standard 40 grain target load’s muzzle energy is between 120 and 140 ft lbs. An Aguila Colibri round’s muzzle energy? Eight. Only 8 ft lbs of kinetic energy, which means it’s suitable for defense against … well, nothing, really.

But that’s OK! You’ll love firing this ammo at targets in your backyard, where it will produce a report so quiet that you’ll think you’re firing it through a suppressor, and recoil gentle that you may not even notice it!

How does Aguila make such a weak, quiet, and low-recoiling 22 LR cartridge? Not just by giving it an abnormally light 20 grain bullet. They also don’t give it any propellant. That’s right! This round’s primer is its sole means of propelling its bullet. Just one more reason why we must reiterate the most important thing to bear in mind about this ammo: IT IS NEITHER INTENDED FOR NOR SAFE TO FIRE IN RIFLES. Handguns only, please.
