Winchester Ammunition 230 Grain Jacketed Hollow-Point (JHP) Ammo Details

You carry a weapon because you want to be prepared for anything. Shouldn’t your ammunition be the same way? It will be if you invest in this 45 ACP round from Winchester’s Defender line of ammunition, because its 230 grain projectile provides true barrier blind performance. Its jacket and core are welded together, and as the result are essentially incapable of separation even after having passed through auto glass, plywood, and heavy clothing.

This round’s bullet is as certain to expand as it is to find its way to its target. Its jacket is notched, preprogramming it to expand along six predictable axes. This ensures that it will produce sharp cutting petals as it mushrooms up to 1.5 times its original diameter. Such potent lethality is simply indispensable for effective personal protection.

Winchester outfitted this round with a nickel plated brass casing. That makes it able to both feed and eject with the utmost reliability, and further facilitates performing a chamber check in a low light environment. This round’s propellant is formulated to produce a subtler flash when ignited by its sensitive primer. That will benefit your vision, preventing you from becoming blinded by the first shot you’re forced to fire in the dark.

Just finished shooting my first boxes of these Defender series rounds, and they performed noticeably better than any other brand I've shot through my Taurus PT-145 Millennium: produced noticeably higher velocities than any other non-+P 230-grain loads I've previously test-fired (which translates into highest energies), and impressively low "extreme spread" and "standard deviation" chronograph numbers; plus very tight target groupings, and absolutely no FTL or FTE issues! It's become my new personal/home defense load.

The best .45 round on the market in my opinion. Not only used by the FBI, but also used by many of our U.S. special forces response teams. I've also been told that it's a favorite choice by many members of our Navy's SEAL team units. Awesome combat round, tremendous expansion.
Again, by far one of the best .45 caliber combat rounds on the market today.

This is a great self defense round. I like to carry these and the 230+p HST in my 45. These rounds have consistent expansion are the best bonded 45 hollow points on the market.
