Winchester is celebrating their 150th anniversary by offering this venerable configuration of one of their oldest calibers in a highly decorative, collectible box. These .270 Winchester rounds come packaged in a container that is adorned with a silvery pattern and depicts early American explorers braving the harsh frontier. This artwork is representative of Winchester's conquests into the firearms industry where they have left their mark via innovative designs and internationally standardized calibers. This experience them allows them to optimize these cartridges for reliable function and dependable terminal effect on big game like moose, deer, and elk. Each .270 round houses a 150 grain Power-Point projectile which possesses an exposed lead tip that has been rounded for aerodynamic performance. Like conventional soft point rounds, the Power-Point is intended to expand during entry into a game animal at a controlled rate which is delayed by a toothed cannelure in the bullet's copper jacket. This results in an explosive transformation that delivers maximum damage to vital organs promoting a humane kill that presents little chance of exiting the body with lethal velocity. The cannelure also serves to lock the projectile into its reloadable brass casing which helps guarantee accuracy after rough handling and chambering. Each brass casing is equipped with a non-corrosive Boxer primer for clean, sure-fire ignition.
