Federal Ammunition 168 Grain Hollow-Point Boat Tail (HP-BT) Ammo Details

Federal knows how to make a really good bullet on their lonesome, so when they tag Sierra for one of theirs you know it’s because they want to make something truly exceptional. This 308 Win round features a 168 grain MatchKing, a bullet with an extremely thin jacket that is drawn to a nearly perfect concentricity standard. The bullet’s narrow meplat and tapered base contribute to its impressive 0.462 ballistic coefficient, so the MatchKing can keep its trajectory very straight even after having flown great distances -- it takes a substantial cross wind to make this bullet even begin to think about straying from its course. MatchKing bullets have been used to win more target competitions than all other bullets combined!

A Federal Gold Medal round appropriately features Federal’s Gold Medal primer, and Federal’s brass casing has been drawn and tapered to absolute perfection. This round’s specially formulated propellant complements its impressive bullet’s performance greatly, and it burns clean so that you needn’t interrupt your shooting session with frequent cleanings.

This ammunition is the best that I have purchased for both bolt action and semi auto guns. Reliable and accurate. Watch for sales and buy in bulk because it can be difficult to find from time to time.

Shot this in my AR-10 and my Ruger and great groupings. Wish it was a little cheaper or free shipping and I would have bought more as it is the perfect ammo for my shooting and hunting needs

I use this ammunition in my AR .308. It will consistently deliver 20 rounds into a group no bigger than a half dollar at 100 yards. I use a Vortex Viper HS T 4-14 x 44 scope. It is the most consistent ammo I have ever used.

I've worked on maximizing the accuracy of my Savage Model 10 for about five years now. I've developed hand loads with premium components (Lapua brass and bullets, etc.) and tried several of the competitors commercial match loads. With my first box of Federal GoldMedal 168gr. Match Ammo I shot 16 rounds at 100 yards that a quarter could cover all the centerlines. I'm using a 3 x 9 optic. I'm extremely satisfied.
