Military Surplus 148 Grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Ammo Details

Even if you’re not very familiar with German military technology, the nation’s reputation for exacting adherence to precision would suggest that their soldiers don’t chamber second rate stuff. This 308 Win cartridge supports that theory wholly. It was made for the German military by Chemnitzer Sportwaffen und Munitionsfabrik GmbH sometime around the 1990s, and although its exposure to military packaging has given it a little spotting, it’s still poised to give your rifle some satisfying performance -- and for a very agreeable price to boot.

This cartridge carries a 148 grain projectile. The distinctive looking bullet takes its color from its cupronickel jacket. The copper-nickel alloy prevents rapid bore fouling very effectively, and that it is strengthened with either iron or manganese makes it able to penetrate a great many barriers en route to its target. Please note that manganese becomes ferromagnetic when combined with copper, so these rounds are going to attract a magnet.

This cartridge features a brass casing, although its Berdan primer precludes it from being reloaded. That the latter is non-corrosive does mean you needn’t worry about time having rendered it inoperable, however.
