This is a light load – 115 grain bullet, barely supersonic 1,155 fps muzzle velocity out of a 4” barrel, and certain to treat you to relatively gentle recoil as a result. It’ll still strike a target at close range with over 300 ft lbs of kinetic energy, which is indeed adequate for defensive applications. And as a jacketed hollow point, the bullet does precisely what it should in order to incapacitate a threat quicker with less risk of overpenetration.
