Sellier & Bellot Ammo
Sellier & Bellot is one of the major members of the CBC Group, a combination of ammo and firearms brands that provides a large variety of products to American customers. CBC Group is relatively new, but Sellier and Bellot dates back nearly two centuries.
The brand of Sellier & Bellot has been producing ammunition products since 1825, making them one of the most successful and long-lived companies in the ammunition industry. In fact, Sellier & Bellot holds the title as the longest-lived ammunition company in the business. While a few older companies are now making ammunition, Sellier and Bellot has been doing it for longer than any other current company.
The business was founded by a French merchant named Louis Sellier, who had been making percussion caps in Prague for the Emperor of Austria. Sellier eventually partnered with Jean Maria Nicolaus Bellot and the “Sellier & Bellot” name was launched into history. With the help of Bellot, the company thrived in the European market. The brand soon became popular on both sides of the Atlantic, and by 1830 the company produced over 60 million percussion caps. By 1850, they were producing roughly 600 million primers!
To this day, one of the most popular products from Sellier & Bellot is their primers. The primers from this company are non-mercuric and non-corrosive. They also offer a line of Non-Tox primers, which are free of lead and heavy metal. These are often popular for ammunitions that will be fired at indoor shooting facilities.
Sellier & Bellot uses a combination of time-tested practices and state-of-the-art technology to create reloading supplies that meet the high demands of American reloaders. While they make ammunition for European and American markets, the company in America is primarily known for their reloading supplies.
