The story of CBC goes back to 1825, when Louis Sellier, a French merchant, began manufacturing percussion caps for infantry purposes. Sellier joined with Jean Maria Nicolaus Bellot to create a company that was called Sellier & Bellot, which quickly gained popularity in both Europe and America. By 1855, their products were in such high demand that Sellier & Bellot produced 600 million primers in one year.
Eventually, this company would part of the CBC Group, although Sellier & Bellot would remain one of the company’s top brands. The CBC Group was officially formed in 1926, but it wasn’t until 1990 that the Magtech brand was created, launching one of the finest lines for premium ammunition.
