BUCKSHOT
16 gauge buckshot was traditionally used for upland bird hunting, but the caliber is more than sufficient for hunting North American medium game. 16 gauge buckshot is revered by shotgunners for it’s compromise on handling, but it’s powerful payload. An average load on 16 gauge #1 buckshot is 12, 30-caliber pellets at a little over twelve hundred feet per second. The round is also a capable home defense round, and due to its ease of handling makes it better suited for a wide range of individuals. The 16 gauge when loaded with buckshot is an excellent all around shotgun for a variety of tasks.
