500rds – 22 LR Aguila 40gr. CPRN Ammo

500rds – 22 LR Aguila 40gr. CPRN Ammo Details

“Aguila” means “Eagle” down Mexico way, but when you see it printed on a cardboard box it may as well be Spanish for “Good, affordable ammo.” A lot of Americans have embraced Aguila’s rimfire ammo since they fired up their business about 60 years ago, and you can count yourself among them by the time you empty out this box of 500 rounds.

This cartridge is supersonic at its muzzle velocity of 1,255 fps. That means it hits hard at close range, delivers a flatter trajectory that’ll help you out if you’re going after distant and small targets, and creates the pressure requisite for reliably cycling semi-automatic firearms like the Ruger 10/22, Glock 44, Ruger Mk IV, M&P 15-22, you name it! (Just note that this round’s muzzle velocity will be lower out of a pistol’s shorter barrel.)

This round’s 40 grain bullet is hardened by the copper plating it wears wound its lead core. We find a semi-auto’s feeding mechanism performs more reliably with a copper-plated bullet for this reason. Its copper plating also helps this bullet keep a firearm’s barrel cleaner, which will preserve its accuracy until you can give it a good cleaning. A solid point bullet like this doesn’t expand within soft tissue – if you’re going to hunt with it, you’d be well advised to stick to smaller varmints.

Aguila loads modern components all around, including non-corrosive rimfire primers and clean burning propellant. A consistent brass case completes each Aguila 22 LR round.
