500pcs - 7.62x51 .308" Dia IMI 147gr. FMJ-BT Bullets

500pcs - 7.62x51 .308" Dia IMI 147gr. FMJ-BT Bullets Details

These full metal jacket boat tail (FMJ-BT) projectiles from IMI match the specification for NATO M80 7.62x51mm Ball and are appropriate for handloading a number of .30 caliber cartridges; specification uniformity also means that these bullets are support by proven published formulas. Each bullet measures .308 inches at its major diameter where it possesses a toothed cannelure for secure crimping; this prevents jostling caused by recoil and rough handling in order to preserve final accuracy.

The tapered ogive and rear of the FMJ-BT profile are designed to resist drag while in flight which contributes to greater precision and tighter groups. A projectile weight of 147 grains makes these bullets great for making blasting ammo as well as long range practice loads. IMI, or Israel Military Industries, is well recognized for large scale munition production alongside firearms like the Uzi and Jericho 941. Their components and finished ammunition are manufactured to exacting standards in order to serve the country's armed forces and commercial exports. This 500 count pack will give a reloader plenty of bullets to do a proper load work-up on their way to the perfect cartridge.

If looking for a degree of accuracy, segregate them by weight as they can range up to 1.2 grains from bullet to bullet, also measure them as that can be off some to... slightly different ogive, obviously these bullets are made on different dies then mixed in the box. You will end with two piles of bullets, each pile consisting of bullets reasonably similar. As they are mixed in the box, perfect if looking for a good beaten zone from a machine gun, which is what they are likely intended for.
