40rds – 7.62x39 Tula 124gr. HP Ammo Details
These hollow-point (HP) 7.62x39mm rounds from Tula are a perfect choice for keeping coyotes off of your property or excusing other big varmints from your garden. Each of these rounds is assembled using a clean-sparking Berdan primer which is installed into a non-reloadable, low-cost steel casing; the case bears a polymer coating for rust prevention in long-term storage. The 124 grain HP bullet used in this load has a narrow, open tip and thin jacket up front which is designed for rapid fragmentation on impact. 124 grains is a common weight for the caliber and will match the sight sets found on most AKs and SKSs.
This fragmenting effect is intended to bring the bullet to halt within an animal or threat after light penetration so that it transfers all of its energy to the target. Simultaneously, the expanded lead core is expected to tumble and create a larger wound cavity which contributes to a quick and humane drop. Tula's cartridges are manufactured in Russia using machinery and materials which have been chosen to supply the country's military, as well as that of their allies, for over 140 years. Their export ammunition has a huge following in the United States among shooters who don't handload due to its low cost and dependable function.
