Remington’s UMC line of ammunition (which is named after a company Remington merged with over a century ago) represents the perfect fusion of affordable and American made. This 9mm cartridge isn’t loaded with the fanciest 115 grain jacketed hollow point, but it’ll do right by you should you ever have to fire it in defense. Most shooters prefer implementing such JHPs at the gun range, as they (A) safely pass through a ported barrel or recoil compensator, (B) are steel free, and cannot attract a magnet, and (C) loaded to a muzzle velocity just a hair faster than the speed of sound, and therefore not extremely hard recoiling.
