Are you feeling large as life and twice as ugly? Good! We hope you stay that way. That’s why we recommend no longer using your 45 Colt revolver for storing AAA batteries, and filling its chambers with Remington High Terminal Performance ammunition instead. That way you can still be good if someone tries doing something evil to you.

HTP is good ammo, with good clean-burning powder, good Kleanbore primers (which have produced good ignition for around 100 years), and – ready for this? – good reloadable brass cases.

Know what else HTP features, and most importantly? Really good 230 grain jacketed hollow point projectiles. They’re exactly what you want for self-defense: robust, with notched rims to permit wider, faster expansion at lower velocities.

Its velocities are perfectly normal for this standard pressure (i.e. not +P) 45 Colt ammunition: 850 fps muzzle, 775 fps 100 yards. Energy at 25 yards is 352 ft lbs, which is still plenteous for self-defense.
