The bullet’s jacket is made of tough brass (the B in BJHP). It is hot-bonded to the lead core, a process which leaves the two components nigh inseparable. These perform very well. Expansion is massive but because of the large expansion penetration is not super deep, but plenty deep enough, about 10 to 12 inches or so. This is bonded so it will not come apart through tough barriers. I tested some from a Glock G21 and the feed fine.
