Remington Ammunition 185 Grain Jacketed Hollow-Point (JHP) Ammo Details
Darn decent self-defense ammo for your 1911 or other 45 ACP pistol, right here! Remington Golden Saber Bonded offers match grade accuracy and conclusive stopping power – and best of all, it’s made right here in America. This cartridge’s 185 grain jacketed hollow point has a reduced nose diameter. That promotes optimal alignment with the bore, which lets the rifling do its best work. Remington’s high-quality primer and premium propellant are matched to give the lightweight bullet a fast 1,015 fps muzzle velocity.
The bullet’s jacket is made of tough brass (the B in BJHP). It is hot-bonded to the lead core, a process which leaves the two components nigh inseparable. The bullet’s resultant high weight retention enables it to penetrate clean to the threat’s vital organs, even if said threat is wearing heavy clothing or shielded by another type of barrier.
The bullet’s jacket also includes multiple serrations. These strategically weaken the jacket, allowing it to achieve wide diameter expansion even when there is less momentum behind it. That assures the reliable terminal ballistics successful self-defense hinges upon!
This ammo’s brass cases are nickel-plated, which poses three welcome advantages: reduced susceptibility to corrosion, reduced friction while feeding, and increased visibility during a chamber check.

These perform very well. Expansion is massive but because of the large expansion penetration is not super deep, but plenty deep enough, about 10 to 12 inches or so. This is bonded so it will not come apart through tough barriers. I tested some from a Glock G21 and the feed fine.
