A valuable metal, and a sword. Put the two together, and what do you get? Something that’s not nearly as effective for personal protection as Remington Golden Saber Defense 45 Auto +P ammunition.

“+P.” It means this cartridge’s chamber pressure is higher than the standard set forth by SAAMI. The downsides? Incompatibility with firearms that aren’t rated for it, snappier recoil, and accelerated wear and tear on the firearm’s barrel and moving parts (not damaging per se, although a constant diet of +P would wind up retiring a pistol prematurely). The upshot? A 185 grain bullet that strikes with about 125% as much force as a standard pressure load’s.

That bullet is the brass jacketed hollow point. Its signature metal feature makes the BJHP very tough, but not at the expense of impairing terminal expansion. The BJHP’s precision nose cuts allow expansion to proceed reliably and at a controlled rate, even at lower velocity.

Nickel plating benefits a brass case in several ways: higher reflectivity for added visibility in a dark chamber; protection against gradual tarnishing; and reduced friction, which promotes surer operation of a semi-automatic. This ammo’s primers and case mouths are also sealed!


The finishing touch? Flash-suppressed propellant, which doesn’t emit enough light to instantly blind you while you’re firing at night.
