20rds - 45 ACP Black Hills 185gr. Tac-XP +P HP Ammo Details
This is a 45 ACP Black Hills 185gr. Tac-XP +P Hollow Point load. Black Hills is well known as one of the premier manufacturers of ammunition, supplying all five branches of the military with ammo as well as the civilian shooter. This load in particular is an excellent self-defense load for protection in-home or as a concealed carry load. The Barnes Tac-XP bullet is a solid copper bullet, which means great expansion characteristics combined with near 100% weight retention through barriers and soft tissue. It also allows for a wide range of operating velocities, meaning it will expand the same if it were fired from a 3" barrel as it would if it were fired from a 5" barrel. The high weight retention also allows for good soft target penetration, unlike many self defense rounds. This ammo is brass cased, boxer primed, and non-corrosive. These rounds come packaged in 20rd. boxes.

Great ammo, these hollow-points really expand and leave a nasty wound channel. It will lock up on the feed ramp of many 1911 style pistols, so definitely get a couple boxes and test it on your own gun before you rely on it for self defense.

Shoots like a dream thru my Colts 70 series that were purchased under $800.00. More expensive firearms doesn't all ways mean better!

I was shocked when this ammo wouldn't work in my Sig that that has less than 30 rounds through it, then tried it in a newer but more used Sig and same thing.<br />
They worked fine in a friend's cheaper Colt knockoff. Ammo is hard to find around here so he was glad to buy them. I have heard Black Hills makes as good as anyone else. Just don't assume your gun will shoot hallow points, make sure before you make a purchase. Sorry for first review, didn't think it was my $960 Sig with factory mags. It shoots round nose just fine, new or reloads. -

I could not have been more disappointed when I tried to run this ammo in my Sig P220.
