Some people say the 44 Magnum is “too much” for personal protection. But here’s the thing about “some people”: they aren’t you.

If you’ve decided to protect yourself and your own with a huge chunk of metal, then this ammo will live up to your mettle. It’s Federal Personal Defense HST, which features the same quality components and craftsmanship that Federal regularly supplies to law enforcement officers!

You could easily find much more powerful 44 Mag than what you see before you. But because it’s relatively weaker (noting that a muzzle energy of 601 ft lbs out of a 4” revolver barrel is still massively powerful), it’s also a little easier to control and a little less likely to punch a hole clean through the threat. That doesn’t do away with the risk of over-penetration altogether, but it does mitigate it substantially.

The HST jacketed hollow point is a fiercely effective piece of engineering. The 230 grain bullet is tough enough to defeat barriers without clogging or fragmenting, and skived to ensure wide and fast expansion within the threat’s body.
