20rds – 30-30 Win Federal Fusion Subsonic 170gr. Bonded SP Ammo

Federal Ammunition 170 Grain Bonded Soft Point Ammo Details

The subjective is undefinable. What one person perceives might be something else altogether to another.

The objective, on the other hand, is measurable. It’s real.

All that’s to say that this 30-30 Win cartridge’s reduced power is not subjective. It is absolutely, measurably gentler thanks to its 170 grain projectile (a normal weight for the 30-30) and 1,000 fps muzzle velocity (less than half the M.V. of a normal 30-30 load).

That comes with big perks. First off, any suppressor you send that subsonic bullet through is going to work real good. You’ll hear its softest performance because it won’t be drowned out by sonic boom, which a suppressor’s inherently unable to dampen. Secondly, this is just about the lowest-recoiling 30-30 you’ll ever come across. Couldn’t ask for a less daunting introduction to a lever gun, truly!

You should go hunting with this ammo. Not for deer, for which its range and striking energy are both arguably vastly deficient, but for boars and coyotes and such. The Fusion projectile features the bonded jacket it needs to avert fragmentation in favor of deeper penetration, and its soft point enables expansion.
