This is match-grade ammo: lot controlled, with precision match-grade primers and propellant charges. Its cases aren’t steel. They are brass, and nickel plated to promote sure functionality in a semi-automatic.

This is also defense ammo: loaded with 170 grain bullets, which will strike a target at close range with over 570 ft lbs of kinetic energy (out of a 5” barrel). In the interest of ensuring the most reliable terminal expansion possible, Winchester outfitted this ammo’s jacketed hollow points with Hex-Vent polymer inserts. The Hex-Vent locks fabric, drywall, and other debris particles out of the nose cavity, but it doesn’t block the inward flow of soft tissue. That’s why you can count on a USA Ready Defense JHP bullet to perform even if the threat is shielded by a barrier!
