Hornady’s own 150 grain InterLock takes deer’s names and kicks deer’s butts. It features the most aerodynamically efficient profile a soft point can have, per Hornady, owing to its narrow point, sleek secant ogive geometry, and ideal bearing surface for its caliber. The low-drag, high-stability bullet has an extraordinary G1 BC (for a soft point) at 0.452, and can easily conserve around two-thirds of its starting velocity at 500 yards.

The InterLock does a lot more than fly flat and hit hard. It also holds up under impact, as its InterLock ring and cannelure resist core/jacket separation in the interest of securing deep penetration. The jacket’s narrowing taper and interior grooves attend to energetic expansion, even at the lower impact velocities imposed by long-distance hunting.
