200rds – 30-30 Win Federal Fusion Subsonic 170gr. Bonded SP Ammo

Federal Ammunition 170 Grain Bonded Soft Point Ammo Details

When an object is traveling faster than the speed of sound, it makes a continual sonic boom: big, resonant shock waves, like you’d hear trailing behind an F-35 when it’s moving ~767 mph or faster.

A bullet is no exception to this rule. As soon as it starts moving faster than ~1,125 fps, ker-KOW. Sonic boom.

That’s a problem for suppressor owners. While it dampens the sound of normal gunfire just fine, a suppressor can’t do anything about sonic booms. Its hands are tied, figuratively speaking.

Here’s the solution: Federal Fusion Subsonic, which sends its 170 grain projectile at a truly low velocity of 1,000 fps.

If that strikes you as abnormally weak performance, then your instincts haven’t led you astray. This low-recoiling cartridge’s reach is nowhere near as far as a regular, supersonic 30-30’s. But if you’re hunting smaller game – think sub-whitetail – and your aim’s on point, you can count on the tough, bonded, expanding soft point to deliver the terminal ballistics that seal the deal.
