It’s a hollow point with scoring on the inside of its jacket that strategically weakens it. Immediately following the moment of initial impact the 8M3 begins to fragment, creating several discrete and deadly wound channels. The 8M3 also penetrates deeply, well past the 12” mark considered the minimum acceptable for self-defense.
Wolf’s steel shell casing makes this round cost-effective. The manufacturer utilizes their proprietary PolyFormance coating to ensure that their steel cased rounds still cycle reliably, and seals this round’s primer and neck to safeguard it against water infiltration.
