Prvi Partizan Ammo
Prvi Partizan is a rifle and handgun ammunition company located in Ulice, a Serbian town near Belgrade. By utilizing a meticulous design, engineering, and quality-control process, this international brand has become a common choice among private gun owners and government organizations.
Prvi Partizan dates back to 1927, when Jakob Posinger founded the factory. With help from the Yugoslavian army and government, Posinger was able to set up shop in Uzice. The shop was equipped to create hunting rifle and pistol ammunition and began production in May of 1928. During the first two years of production, around 150 workers found employment at the shop.
To help expand operations and jobs, leaders in the town of Uzice awarded Posinger land to build a new factory. This land became the site for the first private factory of its kind in the Balkans. This factory created a wide range of products, including 9mm and 12mm ammuntion, cases for smokeless powder charges, and single and double barrel hunting rifles. Eventually, the factory was used to produce military rifles in 7.9 mm calibers, as well as ammo for 9mm short pistols.
Although German occupying forces severely damaged production capabilities in World War II, the facility was eventually brought back into working order by Partisan military forces, which opposed Nazi efforts throughout the war. It’s possible that the factory was the only facility of its kind working under occupation, and it played an essential role in arming the National Liberation Army. Eventually the factory would have to close after an explosion caused the death of roughly 120 workers.
In 1947, after it had been shut down for many years, the factory was reopened and was named “Prvi Partizan.”
Prvi Partizan now produces over 400 different ammunition products, including whole cartridges and loading components. They have options for rifles, pistols, and revolvers. From sporting ammunition to small-arms cartridges, Prvi Partizan is a trusted source for reliable, effective products. They also employ over 1,000 people, making them an important part of their local economy.
