500rds – 223 Rem Federal American Eagle 55gr. FMJBT Ammo

Federal Ammunition 55 Grain Full Metal Jacket Boat Tail (FMJ-BT) Ammo Details

Got an AR-15 chambered for 5.56x45? Then we’ve got the military grade 223 Rem you need to start directing a virtually endless torrent of copper and lead downrange. Federal Premium’s American Eagle series ammo is a staple at ranges across the country for one simple reason: It’s good stuff!

If you’re accustomed to the Armed Forces’ M193 spec cartridge, then you’re already accustomed to this 223 range load as well. Each round is topped with a 55 grain full metal jacket boat tail, the tapered base of which promotes faster downrange velocities and a resultant flatter trajectory. The solid point FMJBT’s jacket has got a cannelure that makes its profile a little less sleek, but it’s crucial to preventing the bullet from sliding out of its seating while it’s getting jolted by recoil. No steel in this bullet! It can’t react to a magnet, so have at it at any range on your radar.

This round’s noncorrosive Boxer primer and clean-burning propellant team up to push the 55gr FMJBT to a muzzle velocity of 3,240 fps. Its G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.269 is why its trajectory will apex at 2.13” when you’re shooting to 200 yards. New and polished brass cases are always welcome at reloading presses!

Worked perfectly, I had a sticky bolt in the AR and needed some extra recoil to keep it running. This stuff runs great. Just what I needed.
