This is 45 ACP Corbon Thunder Ranch DPX 185gr. +P Hollow Point Ammo. Thunder Ranch Training Center and Cor-Bon have teamed up to produce this deep penetrating, 100% weight retention ammunition. Corbon products have earned a distinctive reputation in the industry with their high energy JHP ammunition. They maintain that standard with this new DPX line, it has a deeper penetration to make it the optimum load for Law Enforcement and civillian use. This ammo is loaded with the Barnes X Bullet, which retains 100% of its weight, even after shot through barriers such as clothing and steel. The permanent crush cavity is considerably larger than a typical hollow point due to deeper penetration. The Barnes X-Bullet is a solid copper projectile, heat treated for extra toughness. There's no separate jacket and no lead core. The bullet holds together for deep, dependable penetration---every time! A deep forward cavity causes the nose to peel back in four separate, razor-edged petals. Viewed head on, the appearance of these four petals gives the X-Bullet its name. This ammo is packed in 20rd. boxes.

I have used these for years, an all copper bullet retains all of its weight. Corbon-DPX and Thunder Ranch are reliable penetrateng ammunition that fitst into FBI protocol and do not exceed 18 inches. These are high quality ammunition that put the 9mm back into the FBI wanting to use 9mm again. They manufacturer and ballistic tests show after 2 inches the hydraulic pressure opens these up after 2 inches of penetration. Great in my opinion. I can use police Only ammunition and like Ranger T’s but as an all season shell this if you are only going to buy one box is the one to buy. If you can afford to buy for all seasons then i suggest Ranger T’s for summer and Thunder Ranch for winter, but as for barrier penetration an all copper bullet is the only reliable barrier penetrator that will retain all it’s original weight,
