Hornady Ammunition 165 Grain GMX Ammo Details

Founded as a simple two-man operation in 1949, Hornady has grown to become a world leader in high performance ammunition. Accurate, deadly, and dependable, Hornady ammunition is motivated by the goal of “Ten bullets through one hole.” Like all Hornady loads, Hornady’s Superformance line is manufactured with only the highest quality components to pack a hard punch on big game animals.

This package contains 20 rounds of Hornady Superformance .300 Winchester Magnum ammunition. Each cartridge is loaded with a 165 grain GMX projectile. GMX bullets deliver deep penetration with a non-traditional, monolithic construction. Using a copper/zinc alloy, GMX projectiles retain 95 percent of their original weight while expanding up to 1 ½ times their original diameter.

GMX bullets also feature a hard polymer tip designed to drive into the hollow cavity at the front of the projectile, initiating reliable expansion without clogging. The result is a devastating mushrooming effect that carves a wide and effective wound channel for quick, humane kills.

This factory fresh ammunition is non-corrosive and boxer primed. Each round features a sturdy and reloadable brass case. Leaving the muzzle at a velocity of 3260 feet per second, these loads deliver an impressive 3893 foot pounds of game-dropping muzzle energy.

Love the way this bullet shoots out of my savage 116. It is however one of the dirtiest rounds I've ever shot. After 5 rounds my barrel looks like it's been coated in mud! Very accurate bullet however.
