These 12 gauge rifled slugs are a new addition to Hornady's reputable American Whitetail line which aims to give smooth bore hunters a premium option for bagging deer! These shotshells feature high integrity hulls which contain a 1 ounce foster slug sitting atop of a proprietary compression wad; this specially designed wad makes the most of propellant gases in order to produce an impressive 1,600 feet-per-second muzzle velocity without crushing the rear of the slug and upsetting in-flight ballistics.

The foster slug itself is made of a lead-alloy material and possesses a shallow hollow cavity at its nose; this results in a tough round that maintains its shape for optimal accuracy but flattens during entry for game-dropping energy transfer. Hornady's projectiles are praised for consistent design and ground-breaking innovation in law enforcement and hunting communities worldwide. Their loaded ammunition is manufactured using the same amount of care coupled with unmatched expertise in shooting and ballistic research.
