It hit retail stores in 2019, which means you too can now bank on the power of elastomer!

“Elastomer” is the soft polymer inside this round’s 135 grain jacketed hollow point’s nose cavity, where it serves a couple of functions. The first kicks into action if the JHP encounters a barrier before reaching the threat, at which instant it prevents debris from compacting inside the nose cavity. This preserves the JHP’s ability to expand, which elastomer also facilitates. The pliant material begins pressurizing on impact, ultimately driving its way down into the lead core’s symmetrical internal fissures. It spreads these open, forcing the JHP to fan out five pointed petals. More damage to threat. Less risk to bystanders. Perfect system.

The next evolution of the Gold Dot keeps its predecessor’s bonded jacket. It’s not mechanically bonded. It’s electrochemically bonded, which grants the projectile the durability it needs to enter deeply inside of soft tissue.
