50rds - 7.62x25 Tokarev Prvi Partizan 85gr. JHP Ammo Details
The 7.62x25 Tokarev was the standard automatic pistol round for Soviet Union troops during the Second World War, although the TT-33 pistol’s tendency to eject its magazine without being asked to contributed to its eventual obsolescence -- it turned out that it is not convenient, during a firefight, to have your pistol spit all of its cartridges out onto the ground. Still, the 7.62x25 Tokarev lives on thanks to Prvi Partizan, a Serbian manufacturer which specializes in producing out of date and hard to find ammo. Your classic TT-33 or ČZ vz. 52 can live on!This cartridge features an 85 grain projectile, which has a hollow point to make it effective for self-defense applications. The bullet further sports a jacket in order to assure dependable expansion as well as positive functioning in an automatic or semi-automatic pistol. Nicely, this round’s new brass casing is perfectly reloadable, a welcome trait for a round which you won’t easily find at your local sporting goods store.

The ammo was great a little over powered as usual the grain count is excellent for penatrating light armor not so much on the expansion and stick for unarmored defense more of a military application,(manufacturer note,) and the shipping was quick

Excellent! My order was delivered in a timely manner, and the ammo feeds positively in my tokarev. I have much confidence in this round. So much that it is now my choice for edc and ccw qualification for my wife. Great ammo at a great price. Glad to get the old tokarev out of the safe.

This round is the only commercially available JHP I have found in 7.62 Tokarev. Also being new production NON-CORROSIVE is important to me. It fed fired and extracted every time for 150 rounds in my M57 pistol. Balistic tests conducted at 10 feet into wet pack resulted in consistent penetration to 14.5 inches. The jackets separated around 10 inches into the medium and expanded to 0.65 inches while the lead slug continued until 14.5 inches and expanded to 0.45 inches on average. I load this in my EDC pistol.

This ammunition feeds positively in Tokarev pistols, as opposed to softnose bullets with a large amount of soft lead exposed at the nose. The loads appear to be somewhat lighter than military ball {judging from recoil) and I have read chronograph reports which indicate that the velocity from Tokarevs is close to 1400 FPS, as opposed to the usual1500 FPS or more. Given that this velocity will still carry an expanded bullet (45-46 caliber) completely through a 16-inch gelatin block, the velocity has to be deemed more than adequate. This appears to be an excellent round for its intended purposes, which is defense and hunting.
