Military Surplus 147 Grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Ammo Details
This military surplus 7.62x51 ammunition is good for two things and two things only: defending the autonomy of the nation of Pakistan with tooth and nail, or going off for a lark at the rifle range. We’re going to assume you’re only interested in the latter. This ammo was manufactured sometime in the 1990s by Pakistan Ordnance Factories, the largest industrial defense complex in the Asian country. It was imported to America sometime thereafter. Finally, you no longer have to travel to Abdul’s Gun Range in Faisalabad to see how Pakistani ammo performs!
This round’s 147 grain bullet has a bimetal jacket. Commonly found in Russian ammo, bimetal jackets are made of copper-washed steel, making them at once very affordable and very, very magnetic.
Unlike Russian ammo, these rounds have brass cases. What they haven’t got are Boxer primers, so you’re going to have an absolute devil of a time if you try reloading these rounds’ brass cases. POF already started using non-corrosive primers back in the ‘90s, though, so you won’t turn your rifle into rust city if you only clean it normally after running this ammo through it.
