500rds – 5.56x45 Winchester 62gr. FMJ M855 Ammo

Winchester Ammunition 62 Grain Penetrator Ammo Details

Don’t let anything slow you down at the rifle range! Winchester’s military-grade 5.56x45 M855 ammunition comes all together in a big plastic bag inside a big cardboard box. Just what you need in order to grip it and rip it – without tearing open tons of little boxes in the process!

These 5.56 loads aren’t magnetic because they’re Russian cheapies. The green-painted tip is the telltale sign of a penetrator bullet, which has a solid steel partial core beneath the tip of its jacket. This makes the M855 FMJ’s nose considerably harder, so it can easily make holes through vehicle doors and other sheet metal items.

The M855 bullet is magnetic, and it’s also poised to damage an AR500 steel target. But its 62 grain weight gives it better accuracy over longer distances, so long as the bullet is sufficiently stabilized by a 1:9” or 1:8” twist barrel.

This is new production ammo, not old surplus. Its cases are a little weathered looking, but that’s only because the manufacturer didn’t bother to buff them up after strengthening them via heat-treatment. This ammo is non-corrosive and reloadable, and should treat any AR-platform rifle famously!
