45 ACP - 230 Grain FMJ RN Major Power Factor - Winchester Super Match - 500

Winchester Ammunition 230 Grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Ammo Details

We reckon you can compete using pretty much any 45 ACP ammunition, barring stuff that was previously stored in an active flood zone. But when you actually want to win, you options are fairly limited to the highest grade of target ammo. The super ammo. The match ammo.

Winchester introduced their Super Match series ammunition to give serious competitors every advantage they need to reign supreme. This cartridge is accordingly The American Legend’s master thesis on handgun accuracy. Its match primer, which creates the stable chamber pressure requisite for reliable functionality of custom pistols with lighter springs, also aids in propelling its bullet to clockwork muzzle velocity; 805 fps out of a 5” barrel, with impressively little give and take. The bullet itself is a full metal jacket round nose (FMJ RN); not the fanciest at your disposal, albeit uniform, balanced, and accurate enough to fully reflect its shooter’s marksmanship.

This ammo’s bullet weight and muzzle velocity place its power factor at 185. That’s around 12% higher than the USPSA’s major power factor prerequisite, so it’s good to go in that department!
