Federal Ammunition 165 Grain Jacketed Hollow-Point (JHP) Ammo Details

Your carry pistol's potency will be significantly upgraded when you load up with these Hydra-Shoks from Federal. These .40 S&W cartridges are built using high quality components including clean-sparking Boxer primers and reloadable brass casings which both sport a coat of nickel for corrosion resistance, smoother cycling, and easy identification. Each casing contains a standard pressure propellant charge which is formulated to produce a low degree of muzzle flash; this helps preserve your night-vision in a a low-light situation for more responsible decision making and faster follow-up shots. The round is topped by a jacketed hollow-point (JHP) projectile which weighs in at a light 165 grains for easily managed recoil.

The Hydra-Shok JHP design has a deep cavity with a tall lead plunger at the center which is intended to prevent clogging that could hinder expansion. Precisely measured serrations adorn the bullet's cavity mouth in order to promote impact expansion at lower velocities which are commonly associated short-barreled carry guns. The end result of these features is a hard hitting round that will create a large wound cavity during entry while depositing all of its energy in a target to bring the fight to a close without the risk of over-penetration. Federal Premium is a premier manufacturer in the United States and known throughout circles concerning law enforcement, competition, recreation, and hunting. Both their new and classic designs receive heavy praise for performance which has been trusted by the U.S shooting team to help bring home Olympic gold medals.
