Remington’s High Terminal Performance line of ammunition is perfectly named. This 38 Special +P cartridge not only boasts excellent stopping power because its muzzle velocity is supercharged – its semi-jacketed hollow point bullet is a good piece of engineering as well.

Remington loaded this round with a light 125 grain bullet. You’re probably going to notice relatively less recoil, which is great for self-defense situations when rapid, accurate fire is crucial. The SJHP’s partial jacket prevents excessive fragmentation which could have limited penetration depth, but it also does a good job promoting up to double-diameter expansion as the nose cavity fills with pressurized soft tissue.
