500rds – 308 Win Speer Gold Dot 168gr. Bonded SP Ammo Details

This is no ordinary 308 Winchester ammo. This is Speer Gold Dot: true law enforcement quality, and available to the general public.

This round’s 168 grain bullet is, as you might already have surmised, a Gold Dot. The soft point’s jacket is electrochemically bonded to its lead core, so the two components hold fast to one another throughout penetration of all common barriers.

When subjected to the FBI test protocol, this round’s bullet retained 89% of its weight after having passed through heavy clothing and into ordnance gelatin; steel, 78%; drywall, 67%; plywood, 91%; auto glass, 70% (all figures rounded). Those numbers speak to a bullet that is built for high weight retention, high momentum conservation, and deep penetration.

Its perfectly uniform jacket also grants the Gold Dot bonded soft point high rotational stability – a fact its high 0.446 G1 ballistic coefficient fully accounts for. Speer recorded the round’s BC and 2,650 fps muzzle velocity using a 24” test barrel, but also promises reliable expansion out of barrels as short as 10” and at distances out to 200 yards.

Flash-suppressed powder to prevent temporary blindness. Lubricious nickel-plated brass cases to help semi-autos operate reliably. Total consistency, shot after shot after shot. Ask for nothing less from your next 308 Win defense ammo (which would easily, easily take down a whitetail).
