450rds – 5.56 Federal American Eagle AR 62gr. Clipped M855 FMJ Ammo

Federal Ammunition 62 Grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Ammo Details

These high grade 5.56mm NATO cartridges from Federal's American Eagle "AR" line are manufactured to military specification and are adorned with features that you won't find on standard ammunition. These rounds come loaded ten apiece on classic stripper clips which can be used to quickly fill magazines with the appropriate speed loader or just depended upon to keep loose rounds together. Each cartridge utilizes a reloadable brass casing which has been annealed to prevent splitting and has its primer pocket lined with moisture-blocking sealant. The installed primers are made harder than commercial choices in order to prevent accidental discharge which could be caused by free-floating firing pins.

As M855 cartridges, these rounds use 62 grain projectiles with mild steel penetrators which are colored green for easy identification. The M855 projectile also has a toothed cannelure which resists dislodging and a boat tail rear which reduces in-flight drag; both effects contribute to greater accuracy and tighter groups downrange. These rounds bear the mark of the famous "Lake City" plant and undergo a stringent inspection process in order to ensure high reliability and consistent performance. Federal packages these rounds in the "AR" variant of the American Eagle line in the spirit of providing quality ammunition to budget-conscious shooters.
