420rds – 5.56x45 Federal 62gr. FMJ XM855 Ammo on Stripper Clips in Ammo Can Details

Ten rounds of 5.56x45 XM855 per stripper clip. Three stripper clips per box. Fourteen boxes per milspec steel ammo can. The ultimate investment in your target shooting endeavors!

When Federal Premium puts an “X” in front of the M855 designation, that means it’s the same quality 5.56 M855 ammo the U.S. Armed Forces would use – it’s just loaded specifically for the civilian market.

But what does M855 mean? This cartridge is loaded with a 62 grain full metal jacket, with a hard gilding metal jacket to promote smooth feeding and a cannelure to keep the bullet securely seated in the case mouth. The bullet’s tip is painted green because the front half of its core is made of solid steel. That’s why the M855 projectile is able to reliably penetrate a 1/8” thick sheet of steel at ranges up to 2,000 feet!

This range ammo is a great way to experience the same kind of performance out of your AR-style rifle as enlisted soldiers get out of their M4 carbines. But this ammo does come with caveats. Its penetrator bullet will attract a magnet, and it will also damage a steel target. Furthermore, its heavier weight means that the M855 bullet will exhibit the best accuracy in conjunction with a 1:9” or 1:8” twist barrel (but 1:7” will do just fine unless you’re gunning hundreds of yards downrange).

This ammo’s brass cases are brand new, reloadable, and outfitted with noncorrosive Boxer primers. Don’t worry about the cases’ discolored necks – they simply look that way because military grade cases aren’t polished up after they’re heat-treated for added durability. It will not impact performance at the range or at your reloading press!

Federal packages this ammo in a high-quality seam-welded steel ammo can, complete with a rubber gasket in its lid that will lock out humidity and hinged handle for easier transport. Ideal for long-term storage!

It's Lake City 855 Ammo - good stuff and on stripper clips too. Haven't shot it yet but have no worries it will perform as my other LC penetrator ammo.

I have no complaints at all with this ammo. I have yet to have a misfire and have found only one dinged case and that was very small. Almost undetectable.<br />

Where are you folks finding "Not For Duty".? I don't see it and I have 4 cans.

Only put thirty rounds down range so one mag one misfire I'm guessing a bad primer the brass has dings and has been reloaded but punched right through 1/4 inch steel would of went thicker but it was all I found I'm happy with my purchase

Best internet price for super quality ammo. Will probably buy more as long as my wife doesn't find out how much I am spending.

Perfect, stamped 11- cant beat it :) shoots to point of aim at 100/200 yards with solid 3/400 performance as well- waiting to test penetration at more extended distances.

It may say "Not for Duty Use;" however, having shot this ammo while on Active Duty I can tell you it's the same ammo that I shot in the USMC. There's nothing wrong with it, and I personally will go for Lake City ammunition over most others because I know it works. It's good ammo guys, and it even comes in a sealed can. What more do you want? Stock it up before "Big Brother" decides you can't!
